The goal of this petition is to urge President Barack Obama to immediately and without delay issue an Executive Order declaring a moratorium on the sale of high-capacity magazines, defined herein as those holding more than ten (10) rounds. These magazines were created for police armories and for our military: They are the accoutrements of war. These magazines are a clear and present danger to our national security, especially to groups of persons. Mr. President, you said, "We can't tolerate this anymore." Mr. President, you said, "I'll use whatever power this office holds to engage fellow citizens ... in an effort aimed at preventing more tragedies like this." Mr. President, you have that power, and with great power comes great responsibility. Mr. President, please do the right thing.
