I would like the US government to formally apologize to the descendants of African American Slaves for its role in the proliferation of many years of legal slavery. The social, psychological and economic impact that slavery has on a people can not be easily fixed, and while it may not be possible to balance this injustice through remuneration, a simple, yet formal apology of this sort would symbolize an intangible recognition of our continuous and collective struggle for equality, civil rights and economic parity.
