issue a moratorium and fully investigate the environmental impact of hydraulic fracturing (fracking).

Created by E.L. on April 14, 2014

Hydraulic fracturing (or fracking) promises to reduce the United States' dependence on foreign energy sources. However, at what cost? Millions of gallons of water are used in the process, methane leaks from the wells, chemicals are injected into the ground.... There are very few regulations in place to ensure that air and water is not polluted in the process. The industry is exempt from the Clean Water Act. This is a public issue, and The White House should be protecting U.S. citizens from harm rather than allowing industry to self-regulate. Please investigate the true "cost" to our air, land, and water of allowing hydraulic fracturing to continue. These vital resources must be protected for all of us.
