Thousands of military veterans are unable to get proper medical care through VA medical centers and hospitals. This public health crisis has resulted in thousands of veterans being neglected while hundreds may have died waiting for medical care.
We petition the Obama Administration to act immediately and issue medical insurance cards to all waiting veterans so that they may seek appropriate medical care through providers of their own choosing. The U.S. government will be the single payer for their care until such time the VA issues are resolved, and those veterans can be either transitioned back to VA medical care or a permanent, new health insurance program for veterans can be created.
