On Thurday evening of Jan 2, Menachem (Max) Stark was leaving his office in Brooklyn to return home to his wife and family of 8 children, when he was kidnapped, horrifically murdered and his burnt body was found in the early hours of Friday morning in a dumpster next to a gas station. His close family as well as his local community were plunged into mourning with hundreds attending his funeral.
In a sickening move, the New York Post saw it appropriate to plaster a picture of the deceased on their front page with the words "WHO DIDN'T WANT HIM DEAD?", describing him as a slum lord with "so many enemies that the authorities don't know where to start". Many political, as well as Jewish leaders have strongly condemned the Post, but they refuse to apologize!
