Issue a Pardon to all non-violent drug offenders before leaving office.

Every war has inherent casualties far beyond those taken in battle. The war on drugs was started in 1971 with the stated purpose of eliminating drug sale and use but over 45 years it has only eliminated our mothers, fathers, and other providers effectively creating unintended casualties of American children. Drug use has been nearly unchanged around 10% of the population since the 1970's yet the war on drugs has received over $1 trillion in funding since its inception, costing precious taxpayers dollars to arrest, try, convict, and house each person at a cost of $50,000 per year, tax dollars that could have been used to better education and the lives of every American. We ask that you pardon non-dangerous inmates to allow community providers to return home and save our tax dollars.
