On September 23, 2014 social media networks filled with video clips of President Obama departing Marine One with a cup in his right hand. As he reaches the bottom of the stairs he passes two United States Marines rendering the appropriate military salute to their Commander in Chief. The President then proceeded to casually lift the cup in his hand towards his brow in what can only be described as a half assed attempt at returning their salute. Not only did the President show an extreme disrespect to the Marines who make sure his helicopter flies every day, he disrespected everyone who has ever served our nation. Performing a proper salute is not hard, and takes very little effort. I am asking the President to issue a personal and public apology and put a little effort into future salutes.
