All 50 states, the District of Columbia and 3000 cities and counties have issued proclamations observing May 1st as Silver Star Service Banner Day: A day set aside to honor the wounded, ill, injured and dying of our Armed Forces from all wars.
Both Houses of Congress have approved the designation unanimously and in a by partisan manner.
It is entirely appropriate and fitting that the President of the United States, as Commander in Chief, recognize the sacrifice made by so many by issuing a Presidential Proclamation for Silver Star Service Banner Day.
