Issue a Public Statement Denouncing the Violence Exhibited in Anti-Trump Riots

Created by B.B. on November 23, 2016

We the People hereby petition President Barack Obama to issue a public statement denouncing the violence, destruction of property, & threats of violence exhibited by anti-Trump / anti-republic protesters, in an effort to protect the citizens & integrity of our republic.

On 11/09/16, Donald Trump won the Electoral College votes required to become the 45th President Elect of the USA. Simultaneously, protests fueled in part by President Obama’s derision of President Elect Trump were organized in cities across the country. Though most have been peaceful, some have included violent rhetoric, escalating into riots of criminal behavior. While citizens have the 1st Amendment right to peaceably assemble, riots are, by definition, not peaceable & represent a threat to the citizens of the republic.
