Issue a reduced homework policy for in-season student-athletes participating in a high-school sport.

Created by J.K. on March 20, 2014

As a hard-working student-athlete, I find most of my weeknights limited to less than six hours of sleep due to excessive amounts of homework [and excessively early start times]. Nationwide Children's Hospital has stated that "teens need exactly 9 1/4 hours of sleep per night." Athletics and academics clash with each-other in a competition for priority in time. While academics should take heed, it is nearly impossible for myself (and hundreds of thousands of student-athletes) to successfully complete our homework, workout, attend school, and sleep 9 1/4 hours. There are simply not enough hours in the day. So, I (along with hundreds of thousands of student-athletes) propose a limitation for the Obama Administration to limit the amount of homework issued to in-season HS student-athletes.
