In 2008, President Obama ordered the Democratic National Committee to refuse donations from federal lobbyists and political action committees in order to show disapproval of Citizens United and the corruption that will seep into our political process as a consequence. As of today, February 12th, 2016, the DNC has decided to betray the wishes of the President and the Democratic Party by reversing this order.
Both of our candidates have spoken against Citizens United and have each agreed to make campaign finance reform part of their agenda. This move by the DNC therefore defies the popular will of Democratic voters and must be reversed and then condemned by Secretary Clinton, Senator Sanders, and President Obama to show their solidarity with with will of the Democratic Party.
