A lesbian couple in Gresham, Oregon was told by a bakery owner that they would not be able to purchase a wedding cake. The owners of the bakery have been very vocal in saying that the denial of service was based solely on the couple's sexual orientation. We ask President Obama to issue a statement formally admonishing the owners of Sweet Cakes By Melissa in Gresham, Oregon for denying service to this couple. We do this in hopes that it will dissuade others in our nation from believing that this form of discrimination is acceptable.
