New technologies such as the Periscope/Twitter app have made it possible for every citizen with a smartphone to use that phone as a live streaming bodycam that also remotely records at the same time. The public safety ramifications are huge. Parents concerned about safe passage for their children will now be able to monitor along with the community, therefore data allocations from carriers and possibly government phones should be issued to those who qualify. Police interactions will be transparent & recorded so the practice of withholding evidence is no longer a threat. A one touch app alert system similar to, or partnered with our 911 system is now doable. These new & powerful tools used correctly have the potential to change our world for the better.
