Issue a Statement That There is No Evidence to Support A Civil Rights Case Against George Zimmerman

Created by E.H. on July 15, 2013

The jury has spoken in the George Zimmerman case, issuing a finding of 'not guilty' based on the evidence. The prosecution stated in closing argument this case was not about race. Martin family attorney Daryl Parks stated this case was not about race. Mr. Martin's mother, Sybrina Fulton, stated early on this case was not about race. Lead detective Chris Serino told the FBI this case was not about race.

Most important, the FBI's own interviews with dozens of people who knew Mr. Zimmerman did not find one who would say Mr. Zimmerman was racist. The totality of Mr. Zimmerman's history support that he is, as his attorney Mark O'Mara has said, anti-racist.

The persecution must stop. Using the power of the government to pander to political demands-- with no basis in fact -- must stop.
