The United States stands for and is defined by Respect for Human Rights and the ideal of Equality under law. With respect to the Tragic events surrounding the Gang Rape of a female Indian student on a public bus, and specifically the Inept response of the Indian Government to this tragedy, the United States should Severely Admonish the Indian Government. Insofar as our nation may consider India an ally, and a potential partner in future endeavors, It is in our national interest, and in the interest of humankind generally, to call on the Government of India to enact Significant Legal protections for Womens' Rights, Punishment for Government corruption in not enforcing these Rights, and Development of Substantial Social Programs to promote comprehensive Gender Equality throughout the state.
