Italy's corrupt justice system has been revealed recently in the case against Amanda Knox and her former boyfriend. Americans traveling to Italy cannot have any expectation of justice should they be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Even if a conviction is overturned, the Italian Supreme Court can still order a retrial, thus putting individual freedoms, human rights, finances and families through the wringer.
It is time to issue a Travel Warning about this corrupt nation and post that warning on the Department of State travel site.
