Female Genital Mutilation which is being practised in different parts of the world is a gross violation of children and women rights which requires serious attention.One 15-year old girl lying in severe agony in a hospital narrated her ordeal.She lost her baby and became incontinent after her stitched up virgina failed to cope with the strain of delivery and she developed fistula(a tube-like structure that connects two surfaces.It forms an alternative pathway for the exceretion of feacal materials)which was caused by the "brutal cutters' sharp blades" when she was "six" years old!Many women become social leppers, ostracised,abused,rejected and then divorced when they become incontinent,because they have brought shame to their own families.
