It shall be illegal for companies to use credit checks as a basis for employment.

Created by J.H. on December 03, 2012

With the economy still not on solid footing, employers are increasingly using credit reports to determine whether a person should be hired for a job. This is inherently unfair because a credit score does not reflect whether or not a person is a qualified candidate for a job. Credit scores should only be used if the job being applied for is high security or involves money or high-value items such as jewelry, etc.
