This petition is very huge for every American because almost everyone knows of or has been directly effected by the marijuana laws. The laws are outdated, based off false interpretations, and flat out lies. The campaign, originally ran by Regan, used racism as it key factor in getting it harshly restricted. Reagan used the false pretenses and the biases in America to get his way. 1 in 6 individuals in jail are in there for weed. Time and time again, individuals will walk on violent offenses while simple possession charges can get you sent to the 'joint'. It's time to wake up America. The government can tax marijuana at the same rate (or lower) than tobacco. This will bring in tons of revenue on the state and federal level. This is the next step to the future. This is the 21st gold rush!
