You do not have to be a citizen in good standing to purchase a gun. You do not have to be sane to purchase a gun. You can be on the government no fly list and still purchase a gun. This is wrong. We do not have the right to take away guns from law abiding citizens but we should be able to stop, criminals and terrorists from having that right. We need a valid waiting period where a persons background can be checked. If you are a criminal or terrorist no gun until you fix the problem. Yes criminals and terrorists will still be able to get illegal guns but they will be costly and put in jail if found. They won't be able to walk into a gun show and buy them and leave. Or order them on-line. Today only lazy criminals and terrorist buy guns illegally because they easily fake id's.
