95 years and 5 months ago, the 19th Amendment was ratified. Then in 1923, women's rights activist, Alice Paul, wrote the Equal Rights Amendment but it is not ratified yet and gender inequality is still happening today.
Why am I doing this? Well ever since I learned about Alice Paul, her fight, and the ERA not being ratified, I dreamed of being the one that achieves the ratification of this amendment. Another reason is an essay contest that is about how Sister Rose Therring influences me to make fight prejudice, I don't necessarily want to win but this really motivated me.
As a freshman girl in high school it is very hard for me to make a change. But feminism means the world to me, I want this change to happen, please help me with my dream! I'm very optimistic the ERA will be ratified!
