John Waage is 37 years old, a loving husband, public school high school band director & music teacher from Brookfield, MA with colorectal cancer that has metastasis to his liver, lungs, abdomen. Since diagnosed 2012 he endured 3 surgeries, radiation, several rounds of chemotherapy. His last CT scan, showed significant growth in a tumor on his liver. So surgery was scheduled to remove portions of his liver on 2/2/15. Dr. Jennifer Lafamina, discovered numerous small cancerous tumors on his abdominal wall . She consulted , Dr. Vijay Kasturi & fellow surgeon, Dr. Laura Lambert & all concurred that (HIPEC) treatment would be best for him at his time so he was closed & nothing was done. The only problem is BCBCNJ has denied him coverage. Doctors say they don't know why , BCBC won't respond.
