American foreign policy in Syria has failed. While no country should condone the atrocities of Assad against his own people, he is not the primary threat to Americans. Assad, like the US, is in a bitter war with a radical extremist faction known as the Islamic State, a group that pose a direct threat to all western nations. Right now, we support Syrian rebels and oppose Assad, one of primary enemies of ISIS in Syria. This is a grave error and will continue to lead to years of ISIS flourishing in the turmoil of Syria. We need to deal with the "wolf closest to the sled" and the best chance of total eradication of ISIS is to unite with Assad, Russia, and Iran in destroying ISIS. Syria's civil war is NOT our immediate concern. This is the only way to crush ISIS without boots on the ground!
