After the Great Depression, many family came together with the golden age of board games that produced family favorites like Monopoly. Games in a time of economic strife became ways to escape and for families to bond by playing together.
In modern times, board games have evolved to become more strategic, more family friendly, and more social. The passive skills in games like Settlers of Catan can teach negotiation, planning & strategy, and even statistics. Games like Pandemic can teach cooperation. Games like Power Grid can show how market supply and demand work. They are games designed to have people interacting face-to-face.
I would like to show the President and his family how great this hobby is and show the country how families can benefit from a night of gaming with each other.
