The influence of money in politics has been disastrous throughout history. It brought the British East India Company into a monopoly position, and helped lead directly to our founders refuting the authority of the British government. Money in our government is not something new, and ignoring that concern will likely lead to another disaster in the future.
The Obama Administration should join the American people, John McCain, and 22 state AGs in calling for the reform of our campaign finance laws--most notably, overturning Citizens United.
