t is with deep anguish and sadness that we protest the manner of detention of the Indian Deputy Consul General Dr. Devyani Khobragade on 12 December 2013 in New York. Dr. Devyani is one of the faces of Indian government for the Indian community in the United States. The Indian community, comprising immigrants and non-immigrants, rely on people like Dr. Devyani, for looking out for their interests and issues. For this reason, the manner in which Dr. Khobragade was publicly humiliated is extremely unnerving for the Indian community as well as the diplomatic community, with membership of all countries of the world. It has shaken the faith of the Indian community and diplomatic community in the American system.
Can this be considered justice?
