According to multiple news publications, childhood friends, and himself, President Obama used to regularly engage in smoking marijuana. He and his friends were known as the "Choom Gang" in high school. His book also detailed that he used "maybe a little blow."
While the forgiveness of a person's past is certainly the right thing to do, we find it morally wrong that President Obama continues to wage the war on drugs and -- in particular, the unforgiveness of minors in prison today.
As Penn Jilette said, President Obama would not be president today if his own policies were in place while he was a child. We find that these policies greatly harm our society and families.
Marijuana is no longer a tough issue for the election. A majority of Americans now support the legalization of cannabis.
