In recent months, it has been reported by several reputable news outlets that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has been authorized to purchase over 1.6B rounds of ammunition as well as armored personnel and tanks.
This activity raises many concerns to Americans given the dramatic growth in size and authority of the DHS since it's inception after 9/11, growing concerns about the degradation of U.S. citizens rights under "The Patriot Act", unprecedented gun control activity. This concern is heightened due to the economic crisis at hand and the inability of our elected officials to work constructively towards solutions.
We The People request that The White House recognize this very real concern, justify this buildup of arms publicly, and hold DHS leadership accountable.
