On June 17, 2015, the United States Treasury Department announced that for the first time in history, U.S. Currency would feature an American woman. In making the announcement, Treasury announced that Secretary Jacob J. Lew “has decided that the new $10 note should feature a woman who was a champion for our inclusive democracy. Secretary Lew will announce his selection later this year.”
However, it was also announced the inclusion of a woman would be achieved by re-designing the $10 bill, which today solely honors our Founding Father, Revolutionary veteran, first Secretary of the Treasury, and Father of Modern Finance, Alexander Hamilton.
This petition calls on all good Americans of all political stripes to take a stand and rally to keep current $10 Hamilton!
