Keep alcohol out of reach of children! Only allow stores with separate section for 21yrs and older to sell hard liquor.

Created by E.K. on April 03, 2013

Keep alcohol out of reach of children. Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission has interpreted the law so that groceries and drug stores have separate quotas. As a result permit numbers exceed what should be allowed. We need stronger permit caps. Teens can't legally purchase alcohol but they can and do shoplift it. Alcohol in our state is allowed to be shelved without anti theft devices and clearly out of sight of security. Alcohol poisoning can kill a teenager. When I couldn't find the adult buying her alcohol, I discovered it was the local Wal-Mart displaying it irresponsively and they are not alone in this appauling practice. Why are cigarettes behind the counter but not gallons of vodka? Imagine this is your child. Please sign my petition and help save our children!
