Keep Alexander Hamilton on the $10 bill

Created by B.R. on June 17, 2015

While we support the effort to include a woman who has played a significant role in American democracy on a note of U.S. currency, we believe it should not come at the expense of Alexander Hamilton, a man who clearly earned his place on the $10 bill.

Hamilton was the nation's first Treasury Secretary, he literally oversaw the creation of the American financial system. Not only that, but he was a chief architect of Federalism -- the revolutionary system of government that has allowed the United States to become the great nation that it is today.

Without Hamilton, we would have neither the Constitution nor our monetary system. Instead of taking his face out of the system he helped create, we urge you to keep Hamilton where he is and reconsider putting a woman on the $20 (or $50) bill.
