Recently, the US Department of the Treasury announced that the ten-dollar bill will be redesigned, removing Founding Father Alexander Hamilton in order to honor one of our country's many notable women. We, the undersigned, readily acknowledge the need to recognize the important contribution of women on our currency. However, we reject completely the notion that Hamilton should be removed from the ten-dollar bill.
Alexander Hamilton was one of the most important men in the financial history of our nation, laying the groundwork for and fighting for our current financial system. There are few people more deserving of being on our currency than the first Treasury Secretary.
We ask for your consideration in preserving this important piece of American history.
