My name is Alberta Yoo. Recently, I've come across a news that there has been a petition to remove the comfort women statue from Glendale, CA, claimed that these women were volunteered to sell sex to Japanese army during the world war 2.
200,000 young women were recruited and forced as sex slaves, the largest case of human trafficking in the 20th century. The survived victims stories have been documented to let the world know about this tragedy.
Unlike the German government who acknowledged the Nazi's wrongdoings during the world war 2, Japanese government has not acknowledged these women's rights.
