Keep BAH and ensure that our Military will not have to pay for their own cost of living.

Created by D.B. on August 08, 2013

The Defense Department is considering dramatic cuts to Military Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH). They are looking to make troops pay about 20% of the total BAH out of pocket. Now, if we really look into this, it may work in some cases. However, many Military families use the amount of BAH they are given to choose where they will live, and what type of house they will buy. When you add in all the extra necessities such as water, electric and Internet - among other thing - this 20% out of pocket expense will put a huge toll on families who are lower enlisted or those who have a larger than normal family. Many will say that will will find a place to live on base, yet, housing on base is very limited and most times, there can be up to a year waiting list.
