We desire that the U.S. government abolish the practice of time shifts twice a year and stay on "Daylight Savings Time" all year long. Clock shifts disrupt our circadian rhythms leading to a decrease in productivity and mental health for an extended period of time after the shifts. Studies have shown that there are spikes in suicide rates and an increase in the number of recorded heart attacks during time changes. Daylight Saving doesn't save energy like it did a century ago. Recent studies point out that DST might reduce the US electricity usage by 1% during March and April. Other estimates, by the National Bureau of Standards, suggest it has zero effect. Instead of shifting clocks twice a year, please stick with Daylight Savings and do NOT return to standard time.
