That the Department of Justice keep detailed records of all people who are shot by law enforcement in the United States.
Records would be kept in a database that is searchable by the public.
Among the details recorded would be:
1. The level of law enforcement directly responsible for the shooting, e.g. city police, county sheriff, state police
2. The age, sex, race of all people involved (both the police officer or officers, and the person who was killed)
3. The alleged reason for the shooting, e.g. self-defense, to prevent an armed and dangerous person from harming the public
4. Whether the shooting was intentional or unintentional
5. Whether the shooting resulted in death or a non-fatal injury, and, if the latter, the type of injury
Maybe include fatalities by means other than shooting.
