Recent reports indicate that Dr. Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol will be transported in the next few days to the CDC in Atlanta for treatment of the Ebola virus.
We recognize that these American citizens deserve to be treated; however, we are concerned that this virus is being brought to U.S. soil for the first time ever. Although all protocols are being used to contain an accidental spread we are concerned about the consequences of such an occurance.
Given that the mortality rate of Ebola is so high we feel that this is an unnecessarily dangerous decision that could create an outbreak should something go wrong.
We respectfully petition the President to block this medical transfer for the safety of the country.
