Keep Guns and Weapons Out of Schools and instead, fund training in crisis management for teachers and school staff

Created by J.K. on December 17, 2012

In the wake of the Connecticut school shooting tragedy, many individuals are pushing to arm teachers and other school staff withing the schools.

This mixture of guns and schools would not be successful. Issues arise to students finding the firearm and playing with it. Even under strictest lockup, students can still find a way in. Also, under this lockup, it would be too late for the teacher to get to it to in the event of use.

Instead, funding should be established to provide training in crisis management and emergency preparedness for teachers and school staff. This would include having an emergency plan/security measures in all schools across the country and training teachers in how to properly execute these plans in the event of an emergency.
