Keep Insurance companies from using credit scores for rate increases

Created by V.H. on January 20, 2013

Keep insurance companies from discriminating against poor people by using their credit scores as an excuse to raise their insurance premiums. Just because someone is having trouble paying their bills doesn't make them riskier to have an automobile accident.
Car insurance should be based on prior accidents, driving record, location, miles driven and only factors associated with driving. All raising the rates of poor people and single women does is make it harder for them to become financially independent, by making it harder for them to be able to afford transportation. By raising the rates of insurance of the poor they are keeping the poor enslaved by keeping them dependent on government support, not allowing them to be financially independent.
