Every year, from November to March, we lose an hour of sun. We have less time after work/school to enjoy the daylight.
We should have permanent daylight savings time (what we have in the summer). Here's why. As Professor Steve Calandrillo explains:
Darkness kills. Delaying sunset by an hour would save over 350 American lives annually, by reducing traffic fatalities during the evening.
Energy is saved by daylight saving time. There is greater use of fossil fuels and electricity during evenings than mornings (because more Americans are awake).
Switching the clocks during fall and spring is concerning. Altering sleep cycles negatively impacts health, coordination and alertness. (http://nyti.ms/10kyLEx)
We also need more time to exercise outside.
Tell the government, we want the sun!
