KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID. KISS Women's Vanity Sizing Good-bye. Standardize Sizes By Adopting The Menswear Sizing Model.

Created by M.C. on January 27, 2013

End Vanity Sizing. Standardize Women's Clothing Sizes. Manufacturers have been engaging in "vanity sizing" for the past couple of decades - "sizes" may be same, but the measurements have been growing (right along with our obesity problem) - a size 0-2 can now mean a 26 in. waist and 36 in. hips. Years ago, a 0-2 was generally a 23 in. waist and 32 in. hips. That's a significant "size" difference for a body whose height has not changed. Also, there is no standard across manufacturing lines. Measurements that constitute a size 8 in one clothing line might be an 10 in another. Enough already. Stop making us guess. Adopt measurements based on inches, as is done in menswear: 36/32 pants mean 36 in. waist, 32 in. inseam. This isn't rocket science.
