A government mandate should be put in place that prevents music programs from being eliminated from a school budget. Schools can decrease the amount of money allowed to spend on the program, however, it cannot be cut completely. Music programs help students open their minds which overall helps the students in their core classes. Research shows that there is a correlation between playing an instrument and preforming well in school.
