Keep the National Guard a strictly state-side homeland defense and relief service.

Created by S.C. on January 02, 2014

Reform the role of the National Guard to be a dedicated defense component of the United States military, strictly for home-side deployment and tasks only; and totally abolish its responsibilities overseas.

In an era where homeland security is an apparent priority, it is imperative that we must maintain a consistent part-time or full-time force to remain strictly within our borders to serve as an ever-ready shield to our domestic affairs, whereas the full-time expeditionary forces should be authorized for use in overseas affairs.

This means less strain on the military staffing vitally needed to protect the homeland from unexpected or unwarranted incidents that threaten us immediately, every day. In turn, it keeps foreign and domestic missions separate to the respective force's readiness.
