The phrase “one nation under God” means more than most people realize. It symbolizes equality. It symbolizes that we truly are one united nation. To me, if you remove that from the Pledge of the Allegiance, you are taking steps backward, not forward. As said by Ronald Reagan, “If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under.”
