keep the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program in its current form.

Created by N.T. on May 07, 2014

The Public Service Loan Forgiveness program allows people with large student loan debts to have their loans forgiven after working at a government sector job, or a nonprofit organization, for 10 years. These workers are doctors, lawyers, social workers and others who choose to serve the public (including the homeless, abused and disabled) instead of working in the private sector. It is estimated that about 10% of the population works in these areas. These workers make much less money than they would if they worked at a private company, but they choose to give back to society. Please sign this petition to keep the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program unchanged. We need these workers to continue to help people who are less fortunate than us.
