Many politicians use religion to further their campaign and that shouldn't be a good thing. Politics should be about government issues and government issues only. More often than not religion is what's dividing us as a nation, and slows our progression as a society. The clash of our beliefs causes problems that should not be mixed with the foundation of our country, and secular government could be the very thing we need to get the U.S. back on it's feet, powerful and strong.
