Keep Scientific Research Alive in the US; Maintain Funding of the National Institutes of Health

Created by C.H. on December 14, 2012

Science is an integral part of society. From the food you eat, to the car you drive, to the computer and phone you use every day, scientific research made them all possible. Many things we take for granted because they are already here but what’s in danger are the things that are coming. The fiscal cliff threatens to eliminate a large amount of funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This will jeopardize future research not only on basic biology but cancer research, vaccine development, antibiotics and many others. Universities, private institutes, and the NIH itself all rely on federal funding not only to conduct research but also to maintain jobs. Please join us in petitioning congress to maintain scientific research funding for a healthy society in a global economy.
