We would like a law to be passed to limit the clearing of land for the use of constructing new buildings. In order for a new building to be constructed, there must be no available building for use within a 5 mile radius of the planned construction site that is has the same zoning as that building. For example, if you wish to build a house on uncleared land, you must first make sure that there are no houses nearby that are available for purchase and/or are abandoned. If you wish to build a retail store on uncleared land, you must first make sure there are no buildings available for lease or such within a 5 mile radius. You would be allowed to demolish and build over old buildings, following the city's construction and demolition requirements. This would help to preserve wildlife/environment
