Defense Secretary Leon Panetta has made multiple, unambiguous statements this year that Iran is NOT building a nuclear weapon. It's also widely recognized that a war with Iran would be an economic, humanitarian and national security disaster.
The signers of this petition are appaulled at the growing chorus of politicians and media pundits pushing for war in this context, especially since many of those who were so publicly discredited by their agitation for the Iraq War are now prominent leaders of the push for war.
