Keep Us Safe from Antibiotic Resistance

Created by P.C. on April 22, 2014

What is Overuse:
Antibiotics are given to animals for growth and disease prevention when there is no threat of disease. If food producers continue to overuse antibiotics, resistant strains of bacteria will outnumber and outspend our resources and have immeasurable consequences for human and animal health.

Why the Administration Needs to Respond:
Antibiotics are being used to compensate for poor living conditions for our livestock. When we improve our animals’ health, we improve the health of the American people.

Our Vision:
We envision healthy and sustainable farms. We look forward to a future where American families do not face the threat of antibiotic resistance and where our animals are treated with care and respect.
